APVMA Label Changes for 2-4,D to reduce spray drift damage

On 3 October 2018, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) announced its new label instructions for use of 2-4,D herbicide. The focus of these changes is to reduce the likelihood of spray drift damage.

Reducing the risk of spray drift could be one step closer thanks to Wilger. Application experts across Australia are recommending Combo-Jet spray tips. They are perfect for farmers looking to mitigate the risk of spray drift damage. Among the changes are specifications to using spray tips that apply at least a very coarse spray quality.

Many of the Combo-Jet spray tips are excellent and consistent options for applying under these new label applications, so ensure to reference either the spray tips charts or use Tip Wizard, and selection an option that provides a very coarse (specified by a green colour coded VMD column).

Combo-Jet drift reduction series spray tips used with PWM spray systems are useable under these new regulations, just ensure you are following the proper spray tip chart, as the tip pressure can change with different PWM systems. Be aware of your systems’ pressure drops and adjust to them as required.
